Piyush has overall 19 years of post-qualification experience, out of which for 8 years he has served various Big4 consulting firms such as Deloitte Haskins & Sells, PwC and KPMG. During his tenure with Big4 consulting firms, he has practiced in the fields of Central Excise, Customs, Service tax, State VAT, and Foreign Trade Policy related matters. In the year 2017, he had resigned as an Associate Director of KPMG and travelled to UAE (Dubai) and had assisted various local and multi-national corporates in migrating to non-tax regime to VAT regime. After coming to India, Piyush had ventured into practice under the brand ‘Consultsure Management Services LLP’ and successfully working with Big4 as an independent GST consultant apart from serving his own clients. At Consultsure, Piyush has around 15 members team out of which 5 are qualified chartered accountants.
Piyush has extensively assisted various clients in transitioning to newly introduced Goods & Services Tax (‘GST’) from erstwhile Indirect tax regime which included detailed impact assessment of their business transactions, implementation support while transitioning to GST and ultimate handholding to the clients by computing the GST liabilities (considering the eligible Input Tax Credit), Filing of periodical GST returns/refunds/LUT etc.
Further, Piyush has assisted various clients in building the relevant functional internal controls within the organisation. He has also assisted clients in Reporting Internal Financial Control as an Audit procedure. Piyush has undertaken various statutory/tax audits, internal audits including Bank Branch Audits/investigations.
Piyush is a vivid trainer and has successfully conducted various trainings sessions, seminars, workshops in pre-GST and post-GST regime to provide the understanding of Indirect taxes to the attendees. Piyush has also closely worked with clients on restructuring of business including assistance in identifying the system support and reporting requirement. Further, Piyush has extensive experience in advising clients both domestic and multi-national in structuring of contracts in tax efficient way, advising on complex tax issues, feasibility study to evaluate options to set up operations, review of compliance and internal controls to mitigate tax risk and optimising the tax savings.
Presently, Piyush is assisting various clients in preparing reconciliation of GST output liability and Input tax credit considering the mandate of GST legislations such as non-availment of blocked credits, liability on account of free of cost supplies, related party transactions, time and value of supply etc. This will help clients to be prepared for undertaking Annual Return and GST Audit related compliance.
Some of the landmark achievements to the credit of Piyush is he had assisted a top multinational BPO firm in obtaining refunds to the extent of INR 20 Mn in a short span of time. Further he had also helped multi-national company in obtaining Duty Free Credit Scrips form DGFT to the extent of INR 32 Mn which was used by the client in payment of duties on importation of capital goods.
